Song Pitchers, Demo singers, and putting your songs out.
Apr 17 2008, 2:03 AM EDT I wanted to make an addition to this page, as I am a songwriter from the area. I hope this will inspire songwriters that are looking for new ways to get thier music out to the world. #1. Social Networking As most of you already know Myspace, and other similar social networks are awesome places to post your demos/recordings of your songs. Myspace and Facebook seem to be the most active of them, and right now the average You Tube viewer stays on there for at a min. of 15 minutes, that is amazing for the point and click world where three to ten seconds is the national averageis right now. I can only imagine how long people are staying on Facebook (the college fav) and Myspace (the over-all most popular). What is great about these is you can keep people up to date by bloging, and posting videos of your songs (very easy to do and usually free) as well as passing lyrics, and colecting feedback, all the while meeting industry people very easy through serch engines. Here is a list of the most popular socal networks (most are free to join also) Blogger.com facebook.com lastfm.com multiply.com purevolume.com ruckus.com spaces.live.com youtube.com classmates.com flickr.com ilive.com livejournal.com myspace.com reverbnation.com tagworld.com xanga.com 2 out of 2 found this valuable. RE: Song Pitchers, Demo singers, and putting your songs out PART 2
Apr 17 2008, 3:05 AM EDT #2. SONG PITCHERS I guess that best describes that. If you are like me, and write songs, but don't really want to have to be in Nashville, or another metro area all the time, you could possibly hire a Song Pitcher. There is not a real format to finding one, as they are eveywhere. Songwriter nights are often hosted by these people in Nashville, LA, and New York. But these people exisit in every major metro area including Kansas City and St. Louis. But if you arent in those areas look online. RE: Song Pitchers, Demo singers, and putting your songs out PART 3
Apr 17 2008, 3:25 AM EDT #3 RECORD A DEMO These days you don't have to even play on your own demo. You can hire it done, with a sweet demo singer that makes it all flashy, and sound great, so you can get it pitched to the pros.
